Aimed at raising awareness of the voluntary frameworks for dealing with excavated materials, Natural Resources Wales will provide you with an overview of each framework.  When applied, these frameworks can result in the excavated materials not being considered a waste.

The intended audience for these sessions include the construction sector who are likely to excavate soils and aggregates as well as the waste industry who handle them. The intention of these sessions is to raise awareness of these protocols, outlining the benefits and providing an overview of how they should be applied.

The brief will cover:

•Aggregates Quality Protocol  – framework for managing waste derived aggregates for use as a non-waste
•CL:AIRE Code of Practice – framework for the development industry for assessment when excavated soils cease to be a waste for a particular use
•A Q&A session for you to discuss the practical implications of applying these frameworks
