G4C is the part of the Constructing Excellence movement that particularly champions the contributions of young professionals in the industry that also embraces all new comers to the industry and recent graduates who have an interest in the Welsh built environment and developing their career.

Come along to the next G4C Wales event with Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay. Ioan Jenkins, Development Director Wales, will give a presentation on the Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon which will be the world’s first, purpose-built, tidal energy lagoon, capable of generating predictable, renewable electricity for over 120,000 homes for over 120 years. They aim to create a power plant that means something positive for everyone in Swansea Bay. The power of the Welsh tides can be harnessed to provide electricity that is renewable, secure, local, reliable and long-term. Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon is a £650 million investment and an opportunity for Wales to lead the UK’s tidal energy industry, while enjoying wider benefits that are diverse, unexpected and often unique for energy infrastructure. In addition to clean power, Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon will create jobs, support onshore regeneration, promote tourism, and even foster art, sport and healthy living. Furthermore, they hope to offer low-cost electricity tariffs to locals, and a share offer providing everyone with a chance to own a piece of the lagoon while helping the UK move to home-grown, low-carbon energy.
