Morganstone: best of the best

Morganstone, Pobl and Sero confirmed how brilliant their Parc Eirin project was as our CEW Awards 2022 Residential Property of the Year winner by walking away with the CE National category as well. Congratulations!

Wales proved again that it is leading the way in critical areas of UK construction when the Morganstone team secured the Residential Property of the Year category at the CE National Awards held on 18th November for their work at Parc Eirin, in Cardiff.

Parc Eirin is a renowned, innovative new build development, delivered by Morganstone Ltd on behalf of Pobl Group in partnership with Sero. The development consists of 225 high quality, low carbon homes that will leave a clean legacy for South Wales. Nestled within the historic industrial heartland of Rhondda Cynon Taff, the development is surrounded by incredible landscapes and is designed to complement its environment.

Phase 1 consisted of 46 houses, phase 2, 34 houses and phase 3, 31 houses.

Built with the future in mind, the development demonstrates the delivery of low carbon new homes at scale. The homes combine a mix of renewable energy technologies (including solar panels, smart hot water tanks, ground source heat pumps, battery storage, smart energy management systems and three phase car charging) to enable them to minimise energy use.

It is truly a ground breaker. Each house has solar PV built in, batteries and ground-source heating, meaning these houses don’t burn anything at all. With the long term cost savings, as well as the positive impact on the environment, this is how houses should, and will be built in the future. It is the first large scale development of affordable, high quality, low carbon homes of this kind in the UK. And it is in Wales.

If you want to know more then please watch this short film via Pobl and the Fully Charged TV show who visited the project in 2020. It is well a watch:

Three Winning Facts:

  1. ECO INNOVATION – The development is set to reshape the way we integrate renewable energy sources.
  2. COLLABORATION – The collaborative nature of the partnership has been key to successful delivery.
  3. COMMUNITY – Placemaking was at the heart of the design of Parc Eirin, and the innovative nature of the build has not been at the expense of creating a family friendly neighbourhood.
