PAS 2035 - 2019: Retrofitting dwellings for improved energy efficiency, describes the standard and process to be adopted for publicly funded retrofit. The Welsh Governments Optimised Retrofit programme will be in accordance with PAS 2035.

Agenda

1. Introduction to energy efficiency, housing retrofit, ‘Each Home Counts’ and Optimised Retrofit

2. BSI PAS 2035 – an introduction and commentary with roles and responsibilities

3. Roles within PAS 2035: Retrofit Advisor, Retrofit Coordinator, Retrofit Assessor, Retrofit Designer

4. Retrofit installation, including PAS 2035 commentary and critique of PAS 2035 in achieving objectives

5. Applying PAS 2035 in Optimised Retrofit

At the end of this course participants should understand:

1. Housing retrofit – what it entails, and processes involved

2. Prerequisites to retrofit and other means to make homes energy efficient

3. The BSI Retrofit Standards Framework and interaction of the different standards

4. PAS 2035 compared to other retrofit processes and standards

Training will be delivered by one of the UK's leading experts in retrofit and sustainable refurbishment, Professor John Edwards - MA, DipBldgCons, CEnv, FCIOB, FRICS, IHBC. Professor Edwards has experience of sustainable refurbishment and energy efficiency retrofit spanning nearly forty years, as well as expert panel membership of BSI committees including PAS 2035, PAS 2030, PAS 2038 and the Retrofit Standards Task Group. He is also Professor on Practice at the University of Wales Trinity St David and Director of Edwards Hart Consultants, who are participating in the Welsh Governments Optimised Retrofit programme.
