G4C Wales are holding a webinar on the 'Building Safety Act 2022: looking at implementation in Wales a year on from Royal Assent' with Colin Blick, Building Standards Technical Manager, Welsh Government. Taking place on 24th May 10am to 11am.
Speaker: Colin is a chartered building surveyor and chartered building engineer.
He has 38 years experience in the building control profession. Prior to joining in the Welsh Government in 2010 he worked in local authority building control for 25 years, 13 years as building control manager.
He started working for the Welsh Government supporting the devolution of Building Regulation powers to Wales in 2010. As Building Standards Technical Manager, Colin is the Welsh Governments technical lead for building regulations in Wales.
He has worked on a number of different areas of building regulations policy, including the introduction of automatic fire suppressions systems (sprinklers) in Wales, changes to Part B (Fire safety) and Part L (Conservation of fuel and power) of the Building Regulations.
He has a range of experience representing Welsh Government on a number of government reviews, review panels and BSI Committees.
Colin is currently working on the changes to the Building Safety Act relevant to the Design and Construction phase and the building control profession in Wales, including preparation of secondary legislation and public consultations.
