CIWEM Welsh branch and CIWEM Rivers and Coastal Group (jointly sponsored by Cardiff IAHR Young Professional Network, ICE Graduates & Students and Institute of Water) would like to invite you to attend a presentation evening on 4th May 2017 ‘Micro-Engineering at Cardiff University. This event is FREE and open to non-members (booking is recommended).

PhD students and research assistants working on environmental, water and modelling topics will each provide a five-minute ‘elevator-pitch’ style  presentation on their area of interest, with questions to follow. This is enough to cover the subject and generate interest and allows for between 9 and 10 presentations in the evening, covering a wide variety of topics and projects.

We would like to invite anyone working in similar or related fields such as hydraulics, hydrology, water and environmental engineering to come and present. We are not expecting all presentations to be technical, just enough to give an insight into your work and spark interest in the audience.

The event will help promote current  research  within the Hydro-environmental Research Center (HRC) at Cardiff University , and provide practitioners with information which should help them in their day-to-day jobs. By developing a closer working relationship between both fields we hope to highlight issues of emerging concern and help shape the direction of future research in response.

For more information or to express interest in presenting please contact Jonathan King at this email: kingja@cardiff.ac.uk
