Shaping the future of schools in Wales – What makes a good teaching and learning environment?

For those involved in the funding, planning, design and delivery of new schools, the need to provide better performing buildings at lower costs is clear. It is against this backdrop that Constructing Excellence in Wales has been appointed by the Welsh Government to take forward a programme of work in support of the 21st Century Schools Programme to maximise the impact and value of the investment.

The conference will offer an opportunity to share the work that CE Wales have been undertaking with a particular focus on the initial outcomes of our review of school construction costs and designs (a short report will be provided to delegates in advance of the conference) and feedback from our stakeholder workshops on value for money.

Keynote Address:  Owen Evans, DG Department of Education and Skills

An exhibition of current examples of school design and delivery by Welsh local authorities will also feature throughout the day with plenty of opportunities to network with colleagues. The conference has been designed to allow timely access to delegates from North, mid and West Wales.
