The South East Wales Best Practice Club in association with Constructing Excellence in Wales presents:

A Final Peer Review for the CEW Demonstration Programme
The Taff Ely Learning Centre at Nantgarw-  “Engaging with the community to deliver sustainable buildings”

This is your opportunity to learn how Coleg Morgannwg with their supply chain partners Laing O’Rourke, Boyes Rees Architects and Hoare Lea Consulting Engineers set out to build a sustainable and BREEAM Outstanding £40million facility for the provision of educational and vocational courses and how they engaged with the local community to deliver as many community benefits as possible.

This innovative project was put forward as part of the Constructing Excellence in Wales Demonstration Programme so that others can judge for themselves the benefits that have accrued from the project and the legacy that the project leaves for the local community.

Particular features of the project include the delivery team’s Social Engagement Programme, their Lecture Support Programme to enhance the learning experience of the students and the work undertaken has targeted BREEAM excellent (design stage achieved).

This is a final review where the team will describe to their peers i.e. you, what they did, how they did it, the benefits derived and the lessons for the industry.
