The Welsh Future Homes and Eco Terrace projects have recently been completed in Ebbw Vale and Penrhiwceiber respectively and we’re pleased to provide an opportunity for you to hear about these projects.

The Eco Terrace is a sustainable refurbishment project of a row of six single skin brick walled Victorian terraced miners houses to Ecohomes excellent/Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 for family social housing. The approach was to refurbish traditional Victorian terrace housing to showcase that it can be fit for the 21st century, in respect to the spaces required for modern living, as well as their sustainability. The Eco Terrace has been delivered by Cynon Tâf Community Housing Group, Rio Architects and BRE Wales. You can download the Wales Eco Terrace pdf  to read more about the project.

Future Homes is a unique development of highly sustainable and affordable houses and a visitor centre built from a range of locally sourced materials, building products and labour that meets the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 5/6, and PassivHaus. The project aims to act as a catalyst for the development of a low carbon built environment in Wales and the creation of a ‘greener’ Welsh economy by promoting the take up of indigenous construction products and build systems. The project has been delivered by BRE Wales, Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council and the Welsh Assembly Government. You can read more about the project

The project is aimed at the construction industry and householders in Wales, as it will act as an education resource for informing the public on how to live in low energy housing. It will also provide inspiration on how to live a greener lifestyle. For the construction industry, it will provide guidance on how to design and construct low energy housing and it will showcase local materials and products.

The charge for the event is £40 plus VAT for club members and £50 plus VAT for non club members, and you must register with us in advance.
