CEW Awards 2010

Welcome to our fourth year of the Constructing Excellence in Wales awards. Now firmly established as a celebration of best practice, the Awards demonstrate the strengths of the Welsh built environment and act as a strong promotional tool to the whole industry. The winners and those from award ceremonies hosted by other CE regions go forward to a National final in the autumn. Last year, we had our best ever results to date, with victory in three national categories.

Our Awards are open to all organisations and project teams involved in delivering construction and contributing to the built environment in Wales be they developers, clients, contractors, specialist and sub-contractors, members of the design team or other consultants.

You will find the following material useful when considering entering:

We have made three major changes to the awards process this year.

  1. Health & Safety and Sustainability are two best practice requirements – without them tenders will not be won and projects cannot be built and awards will not be given. Hence we have withdrawn them as individual award categories. They are now basic requirements for all categories. All submissions, irrespective of which category, must provide evidence of their commitment to Health & Safety and also Sustainability.
  2. Welsh construction is underpinned by SMEs and they do not receive the recognition they deserve. Therefore, all candidates, no matter which category they enter must nominate an SME they have worked with.
  3. The final change we have made is that all shortlisted submissions will be required to present to the panel of judges.

Entries will be considered by an independent panel of judges.

The deadline for submissions is 12.00, Monday 8th March 2010.
