Mott MacDonald’s Breakfast Roundtable series will continue in July with a focus on the new Social Partnership and Public Procurement (Wales) Act. In what has been proudly described as a “uniquely Welsh way of working”, the new legislation will give employers and employees a voice in the way Wales is run.  This Act also includes Wales’s first piece of primary legislation on procurement. Public bodies will be required to deliver socially responsible procurement, which means putting environmental, social, economic and cultural well-being at the heart of an £8bn annual procurement spend.

Our team and our partners wanted to understand how the new obligations will improve the delivery of public services. We wanted to explore how to translate the new Act into governance and processes that make a positive difference within the communities we work in, maximising social value, and putting people and communities at the heart of what we do.

Please join us for an overview of the legislation from the Welsh Government’s Fair Work Procurement team followed by a panel discussion, facilitated by Catherine Griffith-Williams, CEO Constructing Excellence Wales.
