Tredegar Health & Wellbeing Centre
Tredegar Health and Wellbeing Centre were delighted to invite BBC Wales to site to celebrate the NHS’s 75th Birthday on the grounds where the Welsh Health Service was created by Aneurin Bevan in 1948. The BBC team joined us to film a celebratory, bi-lingual piece about the Time Capsule found inside the old hospital build, dating back to 1901, pre NHS. The team were also joined by pupils from all 5 Tredegar primary schools where we created our own Time Capsule for 2023. Piece due to air 30th June on BBC Wales.

Cardiff Influencers revisit site
Following the success of Cardiff Council’s ‘Power to Young People’ Programme last year whereby young people in Cardiff design the new educational strategy for 2023, the pupils wanted to come back to see the incredible progress of the build.

Work has commenced on the Innovation Matrix, the next phase in the University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s (UWTSD) Innovation Quarter at SA1 Swansea Waterfront.
The Innovation Matrix is central to the University’s ambition in Swansea and will provide a new platform for UWTSD’s research and knowledge exchange to connect with, and support cross-sector MNEs, SMEs, micro-enterprises, entrepreneurs, and investors to stimulate commercial growth for Wales’s expanding digitally empowered economy.

Funded through a strategic partnership between the University and the Swansea Bay City Deal, the Innovation Matrix will encourage and support the development of a sustainable, innovation led economy which is based upon knowledge, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

The building signals a significant step forward in the University’s net-zero carbon agenda providing 2,200 sq. m of high-quality floor space and will be situated alongside the University’s existing IQ and Y Fforwm buildings in the heart of Swansea’s Innovation Quarter. The University is working alongside architects Stride Treglown and construction company Kier to bring this exciting development to reality which will open in 2024.

“On the 7th and 8th of June 2023, we had the privilege to welcome Mr Vaughan Gething MS, Welsh Government’s Minister for the Economy, the Rt. Hon. David T.C. Davies, Secretary of State for Wales, UK Government, Swansea Council leader Cll. Rob Stewart and senior officers representing the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and Swansea Bay City Deal on 7th June. The event both captured a site signing event and also an immersive experience in the use of BIM in construction and specifically the use of Revisto platform and its benefits to a whole project lifecycle.”

Creating a co-designed community play space alongside residents in Canton for Volunteers Week 2023.
The Kier Fitzalan Team partnered with a local residents group in Cardiff who approached us asking for some support with the idea to transform an unused lane connecting two streets behind a row of houses, into a vibrant community space for neighbours to enjoy and children to play.

This was a huge team effort with neighbours big and small picking up a paintbrush or garden trowel, getting involved throughout the day.
