Airbus is one of the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers. Its facilities at Broughton, North Wales is responsible for assembling the wings for all Airbus civil aircraft and its workforce totals more than 6,000 people.

Airbus Operations Ltd has completed construction of a new final wing assembly facility for the wings of the A350 XWB aircraft.

The project is participating in the Demonstration Programme for Wales, designed to promote Best Practice and innovation in construction through a wide-ranging programme of projects and initiatives throughout Wales.

Come and hear from the project team on the challenges faced in constructing such a facility, with the main demo themes being integrated teams, logistics and supply development, sustainability and waste management.  You will have opportunities to participate in the discussion and provide your own assessment of the project via a simple scoring mechanism.  This provides a valuable stage in the process of a project becoming a ‘demonstration’.
