How can the construction industry deal with a whole new set of challenges and expectations – both from government and the public – on environmental sustainability? At the same time, it is having to cope with a dramatic downturn in the market and massive pressure on costings.

With the support of Genesis Marketing we’re hosting a one-day conference to examine the challenges and opportunities – technical and financial – of meeting Government carbon targets within the construction industry.

The conference will also be an opportunity to debate the newly launched report commissioned by CEW, on Obtaining Best Value from Public Sector Procurement of Construction. The report is based on the views of influential business leaders in client organisations, contractors, designers and consultants, this examines how the Welsh construction sector can procure and deliver in a robust, best value manner.

Speakers at this high profile conference will include Jonathan Porritt, Mark McCarthy from the Met Office in addition to Assembly Ministers Jane Davidson AM and Jane Hutt AM and other industry representatives.

Further information on the conference and how to reserve a place are available at http://www.constructevent.com/
