Students from within South Wales and the West of England have submitted précis of their thesis/dissertation as part of the E.I. Branch’s Student Paper Competition, and the short-listed entrants will present their papers at this evening event for your interest:

Martin Charlesworth, University of Exeter (Cornwall Campus) – “Economics of a semi-autonomous wind/diesel hybrid electricity system”

Agustin Valera-Medina, Cardiff University – “Flashback avoidance analysis using geometrical constrictions in combustors for gas turbines”

Robert Young, Camborne School of Mines – “An examination of the potential for applying experimental drag-reducing technologies to conventional three-bladed horizontal axis wind turbines”

This FREE event will start with a buffet and offers an excellent opportunity to hear of the latest generation of research from the latest generation of researchers, encouraging lively discussion and networking amongst colleagues and like-minded peers from within the region. All are welcome so we hope you can make every effort to attend.
