South East Wales Constructing Excellence Club in association with CEW presents:

A ‘Peer Review’ for the CEW Demonstration Programme

The Cowbridge Comprehensive School newbuild and refurbishment is a £21.5m project which will provide a unified site for a school currently operating on two sites.

The project is a pathfinder project for the Vale of Glamorgan and the first new build school in the Councils School Investment Strategy, and is being delivered by Carillion Wales. Due for completion in September 2010, the project team is focussing heavily on sustainability, integrated teams and ensuring predictability of cost and time.

The project is participating in the Demonstration Programme for Wales, designed to promote Best Practice and innovation in construction through a wide ranging programme of projects and initiatives throughout Wales.

The project team will provide an insight into the project and as part of the presentation you will have opportunities to participate in the discussion and provide your own ‘review’ or assessment of the project via a simple scoring mechanism.  This provides a valuable stage in the process of a project becoming a ‘demonstration’.

Registration is at 8am with the event scheduled to finish at approx 10.30am with a site visit.

PPE is required for the site visit.

There is no charge for the event but you must register with us in advance. To reserve your place please reply to this email stating your full contact details and the names of all delegates wishing to attend.

Once registered, we will send you the necessary details on location, parking etc.

Non attendance by any registered delegate will be charged at £40 (plus Vat) unless you have informed us by Thursday 12th November.
