A ‘Final Peer Review’ for the CEW Demonstration Programme
In October 2008 Pochin Construction was appointed as the main contractor to carry out the construction of a new regional office for the Welsh Assembly Government at Llandudno Junction. Built under a c£21m JCT Design and Build contract the building work of the new 9000m2 office facilities is now complete on budget and on schedule this will accommodate 650 staff who will move in gradually over this summer.
The building design utilised many local materials with the cladding being predominately Natural Welsh Slate and Folded Copper whilst still offering state of the art performance. Specific Security and Bomb Blast requirements have been incorporated into the design. The Building has achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating and an A-rated Energy Performance Certificate also incorporating a Biomass Boiler, Grey Water recycling and a Water Feature Cooling System.
The project is participating in the Demonstration Programme for Wales, designed to promote Best Practice and innovation in construction through a wide ranging programme of projects and initiatives throughout Wales.
As part of the presentation you will have opportunities to participate in the discussion and provide your own ‘review’ or assessment of the project via a simple scoring mechanism. This provides a valuable stage in the process of a project becoming a ‘demonstration’.
Following the presentation you will have the opportunity to take a tour of the new offices.
There is no charge for the event but you must register with us in advance.
